Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid Electric Vehicle Accelerated Reliability Testing - July 2009

Two model year 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) entered accelerated reliability testing in one fleet in Arizona during February 2008. After reaching 160,000 miles each, the two HEVs will have their traction batteries tested before being retired (one battery is also tested when new).

Vehicle maintenance logs will be available after a few maintenance events occur. This information will include the date and mileage for all maintenance and repairs performed on the vehicles.

The two Tahoe HEVs have been driven a total of 163,000 miles and the cumulative average fuel economy for the two Tahoe HEVs is 21.6 miles per gallon. Note that initial mileage accumulation has been slow, especially during April, due to baeline performance and battery testing.
