State and Alternative Fuel Provider Fleets
The U.S Department of Energy (DOE) manages the State and Alternative Fuel Provider Fleet program, which requires covered fleets to acquire alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) as a percentage of their annual light-duty vehicle acquisitions or employ other petroleum-reduction methods in lieu of the acquisition requirements. DOE established these requirements through final rulemakings that are codified in 10 CFR Part 490, which is available on the U.S. Government Printing Office Web site.
For detailed information about state and alternative fuel provider fleet requirements and how to comply with them, visit the Fleet Coverage and Compliance section.
