Credit Trading
Fleets can buy or sell alternative fuel vehicle credits. To find fleets that may want to buy or sell credits, log on to the Credit Trades Bulletin Board (opens a new window to Credit Trades Bulletin Board Messages) or check the list of Fleets with Excess Credits (opens a new window to Fleets with Excess Credits).
Once you locate a buyer or seller, print and complete the Credit Transfer Form (PDF 119 KB). Download Adobe Reader This form requires the original signatures of both the buying and selling parties. Send the original to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and two copies to L-3 Communications. DOE will notify you and your trading partner when the trade is approved. Please note that state fleets may sell credits to fuel providers only if the state vehicles were operated on alternative fuels.
