Fact #270: June 2, 2003
U.S. Telecommuting, 1990–2001

In 2001, there were approximately 28 million Americans who teleworked from home, at a telework center, or satellite office; worked on the road, or some combination of these. The 2001 survey is the first to include satellite office locations and working on the road as telework; thus, the change from 2000 to 2001 is overstated.
