Natural Gas Reserves, Production,
and Consumption, 2000
The United States holds only 3% of the natural gas reserves, but is responsible for 22% of world natural gas production. Members of the Organization for Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which have 46% of natural gas reserves, produce only 15% of the world's natural gas.
