Hybrid Vehicle Registrations

New registrations of hybrid electric vehicles have grown significantly since the introduction of the hybrids in 2000. In 2003, there were three hybrid models on sale in the United States — the Honda Insight, the Honda Civic Hybrid, and the Toyota Prius. Nearly 45,000 new hybrids were registered in 2003.
