Convenience Stores Selling Gasoline
The number of convenience stores that sell gasoline rose to an all-time high in 2003 even though the total number of convenience stores in the United States declined slightly. There were about 131,000 convenience stores in the United States in 2003, 83% of which sold gasoline. Convenience stores sell about three-quarters of all gasoline purchased in the United States.
