Biodiesel Gaining in Popularity

The amount of biodiesel sold in the United States in 2003 was five times more than two years ago. Biodiesel is derived from vegetable oils or animal fats and can be burned in existing diesel engines. Neat biodiesel (100%) is classified as an alternative fuel, but biodiesel can also be blended with regular diesel fuel to make B20, which is 20% biodiesel and 80% diesel made from petroleum.
