Fact #373: May 23, 2005
Refueling Practices by Truck Fleet Size

Nearly one-half of all trucks in fleets of 21–50 trucks typically refuel at their own facility; this holds true for trucks in fleets of 11–20, too. The larger fleets (51 or more trucks) tend to use gas stations and truck stops more than the two aforementioned groups, probably because of longer distance hauling by trucks in the larger fleets.
