Comparison of Fuel Prices

On a gasoline-gallon equivalent (GGE) basis, compressed natural gas (CNG) was the least expensive vehicle fuel in 2004. The graph shows nationwide averages for gasoline and diesel fuel prices for two selected weeks in 2004. The prices for CNG, propane, E85, and biodiesel (B20) are median values from a nationwide survey of stations that sell the fuels.
