Fact #489: October 1, 2007 Share of Travel in Congested Conditions
According to the Texas Transportation Institute's study on traffic congestion, 63% of travel during peak hours is congested. As expected, traffic congestion is worse in very large urban areas – 75% of travel in very large urban areas experienced congestion in 2005, compared to 28% in small urban areas.
