Vehicle Technologies Office Publishes Annual Merit Review Report
The results from the 2012 Annual Merit Review and Peer Evaluation Meeting are now available in a final report from the Vehicle Technologies Office. The Annual Merit Review, held from May 14-18, included hundreds of expert reviewers who judged more than 360 individual activities that the Program funded in the last year.
Since 2007, the Annual Merit Review has provided a forum for evaluation and discussion of the DOE-funded Vehicle Technologies projects. Scientists and researchers give both oral and poster presentations to demonstrate the barriers, milestones and proposed future work of their projects.
Expert reviewers evaluate the projects' contributions to the program's mission and goals and take into account the breadth, depth, appropriateness, accomplishments, and potential of these activities. These reviewers come from a variety of backgrounds, including current and former members of the vehicles industry, academia, and government. Based on specific criteria, reviewers provide numeric scores and meaningful comments to create a comprehensive project report card. The DOE takes these recommendations into consideration when generating future work plans.
The Vehicle Technologies Office Annual Merit Review is held jointly with the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program Merit Review, which has also posted project presentations and its Program report on its website. The 2013 Annual Merit Review is scheduled for May 13-17.
