FreedomCAR and Vehicle Technologies Program Battery Manual Published
March 2, 2005
The final version of the FreedomCAR Technology Life Verification Test (TLVT) Manual is now available from the United States Council for Automotive Research (USCAR) web site. This manual was developed as a collaborative effort between the United States Advanced Battery Consortium, Idaho National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, Argonne National Laboratory, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
The goal of the TLVT Manual is to verify the 15-year battery life capability at the target confidence level of 90% within one or two years of life testing. The manual provides guidance to battery developers in their efforts to successfully commercialize advanced batteries for automotive applications by verifying the required life capability.
