Hotel and Travel Information

The 2008 DEER Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn Hotel. The Conference begins on Monday, August 4, with Conference sessions beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concludes on Thursday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m.

For conference attendees, a special guest room rate of US$131 for single or double occupancy plus taxes, has been arranged.

If you have registered in the full "reserved" registrant category with hotel stay, a minimum of 2 nights at the conference hotel is required. All other registration categories do not require the 2 night minimum.

To make a reservation, please call the hotel direct at +1 (800) 633-7313 or +1 (313) 593-1234 or use the online hotel reservations link. Please indicate that you are with the DEER 2008 Conference. For your convenience, the room rate will be extended three days before and three days after the meeting, depending on availability.

Reservations must be received at the hotel by July 11, 2008. Beyond this deadline, rooms will only be held at this special rate at the hotel's discretion. Reservations may be cancelled; however, any reservations cancelled after July 11th will forfeit the two-night deposit.

Airport

There are two airports serving the Metropolitan Detroit region:

Detroit Metro Airport is located about 18 miles west of downtown Detroit on I-94 at Merriman Road. Detroit Metro is a Northwest Airlines hub and is served by its partners and international carriers such as British Airways and Lufthansa as well. The new terminal includes over 90 gates located in one facility as well as over 65 shops, restaurants and services.

Willow Run Airport is located at 801 Willow Run Airport. Willow Run is the largest commercial airport in Michigan and offers a variety of services including rental cars, transportation, and other services.

Parking

The Hotel has parking available. Self-parking is complimentary andvalet parking is $15 per (which includes in/out privileges).

Taxi Services

Taxi cabs to/from Detroit Metro Airport will be approximately $31 each way plus gratuities.
