Summary:
The
Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
(EERE), Wind and Water Power Program (WWPP), is issuing a Funding Opportunity
Announcement (FOA) entitled "In-Water Wave Energy Conversion (WEC) Device
Testing Support."
The
DOE is working closely with The Department of Navy (Navy) to support and
promote wave energy technologies. This FOA will support the testing of one WEC
device at the Navy's existing 30m Wave Energy Test Site (WETS) located at
Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Only WEC buoy
(point-absorber) device types are being considered for funding at this time.
