Department of Interior Announces Decision on Cape Wind Project

The Department of Interior approved an offshore wind power project in Nantucket Sound, Massachusetts, on April 28. The project, called Cape Wind, would be the first United States offshore renewable energy project located on the Outer Continental Shelf. The Department of Interior will require the project’s developer to agree to measures minimizing the potential adverse impacts of construction and operation of the facility.
