Enhanced Search Tool Makes it Easier to Find Archived Articles
March 21, 2007
DOE has enhanced the ability to find articles in the archives of the
EERE Network News. The newsletter has been produced weekly since 1999,
and since 2002 we have entered the articles individually into a
database. Our upgraded search engine allows you to search through the
archives from 2002 to present to find individual articles by topic.
For instance, a search of "Panda Ethanol" will pull up the two
articles written about this company, while a search for "Spectrolab"
results in six articles. (The issues from 1999 to 2001 are also
included in the search engine, but it will pull up the entire issue
rather than the specific article.) This new feature will make it much
easier to search the newsletter archive to explore the recent history
of a topic, a technology, or a company. To use the tool, just enter
search items into the search box on the EERE Network News home page or
on any of the newsletter's archive pages. Try it out on the newsletter's home page.
Please note that archived articles are presented for information and
historical reference only. We do not update the links in the archived
editions, so many of them are broken, and in many cases the referenced
information is no longer posted on the Web. However, the text
preserves a record of the event, a record that we believe is useful
for researching trends in energy efficiency and renewable energy. We
hope you agree.
