Updated Tribal Energy Web Site Includes Project Development Guide
April 25, 2007
DOE has updated the Web site for its Tribal Energy Program, which
promotes tribal energy sufficiency and fosters employment and economic
development on tribal lands throughout the United States. The program,
a part of DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
(EERE), provides financial and technical assistance to tribes for
feasibility studies of renewable energy development on tribal lands.
It also offers assistance to tribes for the initial steps toward
renewable energy and energy efficiency development. The updated Tribal
Energy Program Web site reflects the look of the EERE Web site and
provides easier access to information about DOE-funded projects on
tribal lands. See the Tribal Energy Program Web site and the "Projects on Tribal Lands" Web page.
The updated Web site also incorporates the "Guide to Tribal Energy
Development," a subsite designed to help tribes develop clean energy
projects on their lands. The online guide is chock-full of information
that could benefit anyone pursuing a renewable energy project. See the
Guide to Tribal Energy Development.
