Skystream 3.7 Turbine Available at Home Depot Locations

Southwest Windpower announced that the Skystream 3.7 wind turbine is now available at select Home Depot stores in Texas, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and California (see the list of stores). The company plans to expand the program to windy locations across the United States. Engineers at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's National Wind Technology Center began working with Southwest Windpower in 2001 to develop the Skystream 3.7 turbine, which was partially funded through a competitively selected development process funded by the DOE Wind and Water Power Technologies Program. The Skystream 3.7 is also the primary turbine used as part of the DOE Wind for Schools activity.
