DOE accepting comments on Complex Flow Workshop Report
March 23, 2012
Understanding the complex, multi-scale aerodynamics involved with modern wind plant systems is a significant technical challenge for future wind technology innovation, and represents a large potential impact toward reducing the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) of wind farms in the United States. In order to address and better understand these processes, The Department of Energy hosted a workshop titled “ The Complex Flow Workshop” on January 17-18, 2012 in Boulder, CO. The workshop consisted of several breakout groups and was designed specifically to examine complex wind flow into and out of the wind turbine environment.
A draft workshop report is now available online and provides an overview of workshop proceedings as well as the results and outcomes of the event. The Department of Energy is now accepting public comment to this report and will do so until 11:59pm on Friday, April 6, 2012. Please submit all comments to firstname.lastname@example.org.
