Jersey City to Install 100 Solar-Powered Garbage Cans along the Waterfront

Jersey City, New Jersey will soon have in operation 100 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Recovery Act Block grant funded solar powered trash compactors each with a capacity to hold “five times”  more garbage than conventional trash cans saving energy for the city by eliminating approximately 80% of its trash collection trips.
