Solar Energy Powers Water Treatment Plant

The city of Philadelphia using funds from an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Recovery Act Block Grant has in operation at the Water Department’s Southeast Water Pollution Control Plant a ground-mounted solar system which has a 250 kilowatt generating capacity – enough to power 28 average sized homes.
