Beekman Firehouse goes Solar with EECBG Grant

Thanks to its new solar panels the local Poughquag hamlet firehouse can expect initial annual savings on electric power of $5,242, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports.

The solar panels are the result of a $217,134 State grant awarded to the Town of Beekman from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.  This State grant was provided through the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program with funds from the Recovery Act of 2009.
