Las Vegas, Nevada, Projects $2 million in Annual Savings with GE Evolve LED Streetlights

The city of Las Vegas, Nevada, has started to implement an ambitious plan to update most of the city’s streetlight inventory to energy efficient LED streetlights. The city of Las Vegas, Nevada, has started to implement an ambitious plan to update most of the city’s streetlight inventory to energy efficient LED streetlights. Implemented in a two phase process, the city will ultimately install nearly 42,000 LED streetlights resulting in over $2 million in savings for the municipality annually.

“We had been watching LED technology for some time, and once it made sense from a performance and price perspective, we worked on developing specifications for our illumination needs,” said Niel Rohleder, assistant traffic manager for the city of Las Vegas.  Read more about this story in the May 14 edition of the New Streetlights site.
