Recovery Act
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 allotted more than $11 billion for the Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program. Funds were distributed via these projects:

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants
The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants program received $3.2 billion from the Recovery Act. States, local governments, Indian tribes, and U.S. territories can obtain block grants to improve energy efficiency and install renewable energy systems. Weatherization Assistance Program
HUD and DOE recently established a partnership to support coordination of the use of $16 billion in funds appropriated by Congress through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Learn more about this partnership by reading the Memorandum of Understanding issued jointly by both agencies.
The Weatherization Assistance Program received $5 billion from the Recovery Act to expedite the weatherization of low-income homes.
