Rulemaking for General Service Lamps Energy Conservation Standards

DOE has issued a pre-publication Federal Register notice of proposed rulemaking (NOPR), which announces a public meeting for energy conservation standards for general service lamps (GSLs) (February 12, 2016). Comments on the NOPR are due 60 days after publication in the Federal Register.

DOE will hold a public meeting on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in Washington, D.C. 

The public meeting will be held at the U.S. Department of Energy, Forrestal Building, Room 1E-245, 1000 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, D.C., 20585.

The meeting will also be broadcast as a webinar. Please register for the webinar here. 

The comment period closes 60 days after publication in the Federal Register.

Any comments submitted must identify the NOPR on Energy Conservation Standards for GSLs, and provide docket number EE-2013–BT–STD–0051 and/or regulatory information number (RIN) 1904-AD09. Comments may be submitted using any of the following methods:

2. Email: GSL2013STD0051@ee.doe.gov . Include the docket number and/or RIN in the subject line of the message. Submit electronic comments in WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, PDF, or ASCII file format, and avoid the use of special characters or any form of encryption.

Energy conservation standards for general service lamps are authorized by Part A, the "Energy Conservation Program for Consumer Products Other Than Automobiles" of Title III of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), as amended.
