EnergyPlus Software Reaches Milestone of 40,000 Downloads
May 19, 2006
On May 12, 2006, DOE's EnergyPlus building energy simulation program reached a new milestone, with more than 40,000 copies downloaded by users. This reflects wide acceptance of the software both in the U.S. and abroad. Interest in energy simulation has been spurred by energy tax credits in EPACT 2005 in the U.S. and by new mandatory performance codes in Europe and the Pacific. Several enhanced user interfaces have been released in recent months, reinforcing the ever-increasing importance of buildings system analysis. Visit the EnergyPlus Web site for more information.
