DOE Presents "Designing Recombinant Ecologies"

March 3, 2009

On February 11, 2009, the U.S. Department of Energy sponsored the “Building for the 21st Century Lecture Series” held at the National Building Museum, featuring Stephen Luoni from the University of Arkansas Community Design Center.

The University of Arkansas Community Design Center serves as an outreach portal for the University’s School of Architecture, and strives to propel creative development in Arkansas through education, research, and design solutions that address community development issues in Arkansas as well as at the national level.

Mr.  Luoni discussed holistic planning methods that bring social and environmental considerations to urban economic development, including watershed urbanism, low-impact neighborhood development, and transit-oriented development.
