Douglas Faulkner Named Acting Assistant Secretary for Efficiency, Renewables

DOE named Douglas L. Faulkner as Acting Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) on June 24th, following the promotion of his predecessor, David K. Garman, to Under Secretary of Energy for Energy, Science and Environment.

Faulkner has served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for EERE since 2001 and has worked for the federal government for more than 25 years. Faulkner previously served in a number of assignments at the Central Intelligence Agency and at DOE, including service as senior policy advisor to two former energy secretaries: Admiral James Watkins, who served under President George H.W. Bush, and Spencer Abraham, who served under President George W. Bush until late last year. See the DOE press release.
