SEP certification requires your organization to show proof of your energy performance improvement that goes beyond ISO 50001. This additional burden of proof makes it very important to keep good records. ANSI/MSE 50021 specifies additional requirements for record’s control.
How to do it
For SEP, implementing management and control of EnMS information involves the following task:
A documented records control procedure must be developed and maintained to satisfy the requirement for SEP certification. This action builds upon task 3.3.2 in Level 2 ISO 50001 Energy Management of the eGuide, which discusses the controls needed for record-keeping.
ANSI/MSE 50021 describes this requirement:
ANSI/MSE 50021
Section 4.6.5 requires that you develop and maintain a documented procedure for record’s control. Task 3.3.2 of Level 2 provides practical guidance on records control for ISO 50001 as does the standalone document, Understanding EnMS Documentation.
